About IBM Cognos TM1

IBM Cognos TM1 is able to span the full suite of planning and forecasting, performance management and business intelligence applications that are required by today's dynamic organisations.

TM1 provides the only complete, high performance real-time planning, reporting and analytics platform. It uses a patented, 64 bit, in-memory, multi-dimensional server to provide exceptionally fast performance for applications of literally any scale. TM1 also provides powerful tools for seamless importing and exporting of data together with web reporting and data input.

The capabilities of TM1 can be extended even further when combined with the Cognos 8 Business Intelligence software. This solution provides a wide range of additional dashboarding, scorecarding and analytical reporting options via the web.

New Features in Release TM1 9.4

IBM Cognos TM1 9.4 provides a number of new capabilities for TM1 application development and operation. These include:

Active Forms

Active Forms can be used in TM1’s Excel-based application authoring facility and provide a number of new or updated capabilities to power users and end-users such as:

• Report rows with asymmetrical drill-down

• Filtering

• Drill through

• Stacked row and column dimensions

• Data entry spreading

• Automatic zero row suppression

New Administrator Roles

These new administrator groups provide more control for TM1 customers that need to separate TM1 administrative roles among different users to satisfy Sarbanes-Oxley, internal requirements or other rules and restrictions.

Extended TM1 Audit Log

The TM1 audit log has been extended in TM1 9.4 to monitor changes to metadata such as modifications to dimensions, views and subsets. This log can be used for accountability purposes where laws or regulations, such as Sarbanes-Oxley, require auditing of certain activities in mission critical software.

The audit log allows TM1 administrators to easily answer questions such as:

• What object was changed?

• How was the object modified?

• Who made the change?

• When was the change made?

Unicode Support

Full Unicode support means TM1 9.4 accommodates expanded string lengths beyond 255 characters. Two new languages – simplified Chinese and Japanese – have also been introduced.
